Textastic is a comprehensive and versatile text and code editor for iPad and iPhone. It supports syntax highlighting for more than 80 programming and markup languages. Connect to SFTP, FTP, and WebDAV servers or to your Dropbox account. Use the built-in SSH terminal to work directly on your server.

- Deleting files in “Local Files”, “iCloud”, or external iCloud Drive folders now moves them to “Recently Deleted” in the Files app, where they can be restored if needed.

- Fixed incorrect formatting of PHP code inside script tags in PHP files.

- Other minor improvements.

May be a good editor, but you need to pay before you find out

I have happily paid lots of money for good software over the years - and I still do.

The time you devote to writing code is precious. If you decide to open source your code, you will reserve a seat in the afterlife FOSS-heaven, and if you want money while you are on earth and make good software, you should have the option to get paid properly.

But having said that, I have to state tjat it is absolutely ridiculous that you HAVE TO PAY (or accept payment) to use it when it is listed as a free app with in-app purchases.

Developers should be obliged to specify this clearly when writing the app ad texts. Yes, yes - I can start a 7-day free period (the Apple way, where I start a subscription but need to cancel to avoid charging).

This is part of the reason that I am fed up with the Apple environment. I did not spend much time actually coding in the app due to the limitations being so strict trying to force me into accepting payment.

I used the editor for 5 minutes.

Fantastic iPad developer IDE

Textastic is a beautifully uncomplicated app, yet it doesn’t compromise on its rich feature set. Still the best app for coding I’ve tried. Use it every day. Try it, you don’t regret.
