Firespot brings together the most useful sources of fire and weather data. With Firespot, you'll have a complete birds-eye view of everything that's happening with wildfires.
Firespot's exclusive alerts system can be configured to send notifications straight to your phone. Monitor fires of interest to you, or get updates on any new activity in your area.
Human-reported U.S. fire data is sourced from the National Wildfire Coordinating Group and the National Interagency Fire Center. This data provides up-to-date information on fires including perimeter, containment, and fuel type.
Satellite data is sourced from NASA and the ESA. Satellites can serve as an early warning system for new wildfires, especially ones that start in remote areas where human detection may be delayed. Use satellite hotspots to see the true spread of a fire, which is often beyond the official perimeter.
Red Flag warnings are sourced from the National Weather Service.
Wind data and forecasts are sourced from NOAA's GFS model.
