VLC for Mobile is a port of the free VLC media player to iPad, iPhone and iPod touch.
It can play all your movies, shows and music in most formats directly without conversion.
It allows file synchronization with Dropbox, GDrive, OneDrive, Box, iCloud Drive, iTunes, direct downloads and through WiFi sharing as well as streaming from SMB, FTP, UPnP/DLNA media servers and the web.

Casting, I don’t get it.
Whenever I press the chromecast button it just shows as being active, but nothing ever comes up on my television screen.

Opening an audio file in VLC is surprisingly complicated, to the point where it’s basically ridiculous.

Great app for airplaying
Works very good. Connects easily over WiFi to my Apple TimeCapsule/router. Streams movies to my Apple TV device incl sound. I recommend this app!

It’s not working properly
The app works fine. I Can play the video with subs, but as soon as I stream it to chromecast the subs isn’t displayed.

VLC has become worse after the Update.
VLC has become worse after the Update. It was much easier to work with before. You could just swipe and delete. Also it seems that it is more fragile now and crashed much more.

Unable to cast video
After Update i cant use my apple devices. Phone’s or ipad .. Chromecast ultra . Devices Can cast from Viaplay and other medias.

Constant crashes
So happy that chromecast support was added. But that feeling quickly went away since the app keeps crashing. 6 times in a hour. Not impressed.

Folder browsing takes loooong time
Just added a folder called “Oliver and Hardy” on a SMB server only holding around 20 short films. Browsing this to show its contents with “It’s playing” takes no time but never shows up on VLC. Restart/refresh does not solve it. WHY?
Without basic stuff in place this product is a worthless piece of junk. Before this even the folder itself was invisible but became visible after restart.

Brugt på min lidt ældre iPad med iOS 9. Kan fint koble op på netværk og hente filer til streaming eller offline lytning af musik. Men kun nogle. Så ud til at visse filer (måske pga. filnavn?) kunne den ikke hente. Andre blev hentet men kunne ikke afspilles. Andre kunne den ikke kæde sammen til albums. Album billeder blev kun hentet i få tilfælde.
Kort sagt - upålidelig. Afinstalleret igen og bruger nu andre Flac playere. De kan godt finde ud af det. Få pålideligheden forbedret eller stop projektet. Som det er nu er det at lave grin med brugerne...

Subtitles when chromecasting :-(
When I Chromecast it do not show the subtitles, but when I watch it on my phone my phone it works perfectly!!
I hope a fix is on it’s way!!

Great playback, terrible download mechanism
While I have no problems with how well VLC plays media, downloading files onto the device over the local network - and then monitoring the download - is abysmal, it feels like a work-in-progress. However, considering that it's been like this song as I've had the app (about two years) I don't expect there to be any changes soon.
And to be clear, the specific problems are
1. The UI for selecting and connecting to a local network device is not intuitive (it's so easy to save a duplicate connection, and then not obvious how you remove this duplicate)
2. Once a download has been requested you have to go back, back, back, back to see the download progress. If you then wish to download something else you need to reconnect and browse all over again.
3. The app can't cope with downloading multiple files simultaneously - it struggles to show both downloads on the Downloads view.
4. When traversing back through the menu in order to monitor a download, the app frequently sticks when you tap to view the main menu.
5. Download progress: if I tap or swipe down on the screen I see the percentage increase, otherwise nothing seems to update.
The 'All Files' browser also feels like it hasn't been given any thought.
All in all it feels like an app built by a hobbyist.

Easy enough to put files over via itunes, but movie was unwatchable. Picture wouldn't play at all, freezes at one frame.

Wonderful app!
Easy to use, nice playback and gives me a simple way to view my extensive media library on my ipad.
Would have liked a casting capability also, but this is wonderful even without it!

Version 2.6 på iPad 3
Hidtil har appen fungeret strygene, men efter seneste opdatering er det umuligt at se film med vlc appen.. Det hakker simpelthen for meget. Jeg ved ikke om det skyldes ar jeg anvender en iPad 3, men det er først siden v. 2.6 at det er blevet et problem!
