I was forced to download this app on my Windows computer, when I bought a iBook for my Education.
There are a lot of problems with the app. I don’t recomend bying books, that are only competible with this app.

Downloaded the app, because it was the only way I could get acces to a purchased ebook. The app keeps chrashing and fails to save my highlights and notes. In other words completely useless, and i am left with a book I cant read!

Dear Adobe
Having bought a 3000 page DRM protected textbook without option to use my usual pdf reader where I can highlight text in different colours, I’m now getting pretty frustrated with Adobe Digital Edition. Whenever I try to highlight text it scrolls the page instead and only one highlight colour to choose. It seems the app has difficulty handling a 3000 page book as the pages load extremely slowly and scrolling between chapters is almost impossible.
Please update the app to:
- be able to handle large textbook
- be able to change scroll direction from side/side to up/down
- be able to highlight with 5 colours
Unbelievable that a giant company like Adobe release crap like this.

Creating an account is ridiculously troublesome. Authorising your own books is impossible unless you figure out not to use account name, as they ask for, but your mail address. And when you finally get your book downloaded, the reader doesn’t work. When you scroll to next page, it is blank, and if you try again it skips a page.
Adobe is the only one benefiting from this app. They harvest all your reding patterns, instead of just providing an access code to allow users to administer their own books.
The least they could do was making an app that works.

Frustrating way to read books

The list of frustrations is long:
- access to your book is slow compared to other book readers
- not able to read the top line of every page as it’s not designed to fit the special iPhone X screen design
- in dark mode every page turn stars as a blank white page
- turning pages is a nightmare
- it keep changing which lines are included when you have changed the text setting
Because of digital rights I’m forced to use it. Will look for alternatives.

I would never have bought an adobe digital edition book for uni, if I had known what a pain it is. Constant crashes, and the time immediately aften a crash is the only time it feels snappy.
And every crash erases highlights you’ve made since you opened the app, meaning course prep work has to be done 2 or 3 times.
This is the worst ebook app I’ve ever seen, and a complete disgrace that Adobe would release something in this state.

Slow, sluggish, bordering useless!
Non-responsive when attempts to flip a page are attempted.
I purchased ISACA’s CISM study guide as a digital edition to avoid the 700 page book format, but I am now forced to by the physical edition as this app is simply to unstable to be of any use. If a 0 star recommendation was possible I would apply that to this disaster of an app!

Denne app lukker ned HVER gang på min mobil når jeg prøver at åbne en af de bøger jeg har downloaded.
På computeren virker det dog.
Men jeg ville gerne kunne læse når jeg har lyst og ikke kun når jeg er i besiddelse af min computer.
Adobe det ville være en god ide at få styr på jeres mobil -app.
Jeg ville anbefale andre at finde en anden udvej. ØV ØV.

Honestly, what’s the point of providing an ereading app when it doesn’t work!? Crashes constantly, especially when opening titles. I can no longer support my favourite indie bookstores in my home country because ePub is the only format of ebooks they offer and I can’t open them without your unstable app. Fix. It!

I have never experienced a more frustrating reading program. It keeps quitting when you are reading and when you open the program again, you have to find the page you were at. And that is if it lets you and doesn’t close again. The highlighting feature doesn’t work either, maybe it will highlight and maybe it won’t. Had I known how bad this program was I would have gotten the book in a physical book. I have seriously regretted this. Normally I like Adobe programs but this is the worst I have ever tried.

Downloading and installation worked without problems. However this app have two major drawbacks.
First of all i need to zoom out before changing page and then zoom in again for proper view. After reading 3 pages this already annoy me enough to consider buying the book elsewhere.
Secondly it is not possible to draw in the book. For me this is one of the only reasons to read on a device.

I’ve activated two factor authentication for my AbobeID, using Adobe’a own(!) app for authenticating. But whoops - 2FA is not compatible with Adobe’s own ebook reader. Neither is Bluefire. Bummer, Adobe, that’s totally amateurism on a high level!!

IF you follow the directions - which is download BEFORE you buy anything and authorize your account (you find that in help) - then Its working perfect. Great product. No Green issues, as somebody wrote some years ago. Just simple and easy to use.
Danskere: det virker perfekt til Saxos E-bøger, og er ret nemt at bruge. Når du skal overføre en bog fra Saxos bibliotek, trykker man oppe i toppen af bogen, der hvor der indimellem fremkommer et 'iBooks' (på Mac og iPad). Men endelig ikke på iBooks, men på 'mere' som står i venstre side. Så kommer Adobe-logoet frem; det trykker du på, og så er din bog klar til at læse i Adobe
