Lose connection All the time
As title. Very disappointing app. No development or ui change the last couple years

Unstable
The app often fails to save recipes causing you to lose your newly added recipe. Very frustrating.
Cooking push notifications don’t work, even though notifications are enabled.

This piece of software works so unreliable you might as well never use it, just use the display, but that means you cant controll it when you arent home… which is kind of the idea 🤦🏼♂️

Third Anova Pro and still problems with WIFI
The first two Anova Pro had problems with the screen and couldn’t find my WiFi. The third I received couldn’t find WiFi but the screen worked so I’m able to use it without WiFi but I didn’t buy it with WiFi to use it without.
I got a long list of different things I could try changing on my router but nothing helped. I wait more than 30 minutes for support to answer and more 😔 I’ve used so many hours to try getting the Anova Pro to work but nothing seems to be working.
If I had known about the problems I wouldn’t have bought an Anova

Ok app, many bugs
App is generally functioning ok, but it full of beginners bugs; like this text field I’m writing this review in has white text on white background. Sometimes the app doesn’t connect to the device, sometimes the app crashes and the device goes in endless mode, editing a timer is always a pain since the number fields are wrongly configured. It would have been nice it Anova would have at least done a basic beta testing.

App does not stand up to the product
Very difficult to connect at times. Often you have to repeat the process of finding your anova.
Private recipes program is tedious and if iPad goes to sleep you loose your work. Numerous times I have lost work.
Multi handsets must be applied in next update pls.

Only one phone can be connected at a time, connecting another device requires setting up the Anova product again.
No option to defer start.

Good app
Bought the new Anova Precision Cooker with WiFi and was amazed how easy and quick it was to set up WiFi an start a cook😃 Tried other brands that fail big on this.
Great with all the recipes but I know a lot of people who would appreciate danish as language. Might be other languages that are wanted out there as well 😉
Another note, if you press the “Disconnect my Anova” button in the settings menu, the device will be removed without further notice. An extra confirm would be nice, however it is still easy to reconnect.

Can’t connect
After lots of attempts I gave up WiFi connection in our summerhouse. After lots of attemts I succeeded at home. Now I had to replace my home-router, and I have to BT-connect again to set it up. But it keeps claiming Bluetooth is switched off on the phone. Which it isn’t!

Recipe storage is lousy
Storing recipes and accessing them is, to put it mildly, lousy. More than half the time you have to log out of the app to be able to get your stored apps.

Great app, but there are still small things that would make it even easier to use.
Also it should be possible to control more than one Anova stick via the app.
All in all a great sous vide stick with a great app!

Please fix the basics
The basics of this app is horrible. Such a nice product deserves a better app.
The whole experience around setting timers, countdowns, temperatures is so bad. You can do better! :)

Fix the timer!
This is a rating of the app, not the Anova precision cooker itself.
The app basically has two functions: Set the desired temperature and the desired duration. OK you can also store recipes and call up saved combinations of time and temperature. But the timer is a JOKE (a very bad one). How can you make an app that is supposed to count down to zero - and not get it right?
As I’m writing this I have my cooker set at 30 minutes and after 25 minutes have passed the timer on both the app and the cooker itself is at 29:42!

Ok, but could be refined...
In general it is good, however following could be better:
- Setting time independently of recipes. Could be a pop-up before you start cooking.
- Adjusting time on the app during cooking. It will not allow me to change it currently.
- Getting a notification on the app if it stops (e.g. runs low on water and starts beeping).

The worst sous vide experience
First the anova worked fine with a wifi password more then 15 characters and 5 Ghz wifi. Now it dosn't work on my wifi since I use 5 Ghz and a password of more then 15 characters. I use the Bluetooth option but if you don't open the app at the exact time you reach cooking temperature the timer dosn't start🙄

Really, really good app!
I love my Anova (and so does family and friends ;-). I was an it in doubt when I got the Anova stick if I should go for only Bluetooth or also Wifi. So happy I spend an it more. E.g. Late from work and I can just give he meat a few extra hours ? Setting he temperature - but especially the timer from away is a winner. The app is very easy to use and the options to get recipes via the app is really great. In short - impressed and love it!
